Career Background:

I began my digital media career as an editor at WROC-8 News, as well as working with studio cameras and running the audio board. These aspects of both pre-production and production taught me how to prioritize quality content; to tell an entire story in a limited amount of time. I then trained as a photographer/videographer at WROC and WHEC, where I was finally able to capture, edit, and produce each story in its entirety through my own unique viewpoint. This gave me the skills to be able to utilize my creative freedom while still holding true to the stations’ values.

After working in the news industry for nearly 3 years, I transitioned to the A/V Coordinator position at the Newark Central School District.  Among many responsibilities, I collaborated directly with students, colleagues, and the administration to put on broadcasts while creating educational materials and entertainment for the district, including sports and concerts. I balanced a wide range of requests on a daily basis, utilized the Adobe Suite, managed students, broadcast live news, and troubleshooting on a large-scale. Here I also started and coordinated the WNHS Club, where both myself and my students were constantly challenged to create, edit, and broadcast numerous events and projects. Additionally, I managed all Social Media platforms for each of the 5 schools within the District.

Choose Newark, We Did!

(2018) Governor Cuomo’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) is transforming downtown neighborhoods into vibrant communities where New Yorkers want to live, work and raise families.

In its third year, the program invested $100 million into 10 additional downtown neighborhoods across the state. Participating communities are nominated by the state’s ten Regional Economic Development Councils (REDCs) based on the downtown’s potential for transformation, and each community is awarded $10 million to develop a downtown strategic investment plan and implement key catalytic projects that advance the community’s vision for revitalization.

This video was part of Newark's application which the Village of Newark/Chamber of Commerce presented. This could bring huge changes to my hometown, and I was thrilled to be able to highlight our community.

Newark is ready. Choose Newark, We Did!
